Every year Kerala Samajam Munich organizes a grand event to celebrate Onam. Last year more than 550 Malayalis got together to enjoy the festivities.
But this year due to the regulations we are not able to organize such a get together. That doesn’t mean that you miss out on all the fun and the traditional Sadhya.
KSM is happy to announce the Onam celebrations for 2020 on September 6, 2020.
Sadhya will be available for pickup at multiple locations in the city at 11:30 AM. After you enjoy the meal with your family you will be in for a visual treat at 3 PM on the KSM YouTube channel. There will be cultural events, contests and some surprises.
Get ready for an exciting day on 06.09.2020! Check out the events section for more details.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public gatherings have been restricted. But Kerala Samajam Munich decided to make use of the time to organize webinar sessions to provide the members with insights on various topics. Please check the Events page to get more information about the upcoming webinars. We urge you to make use of these sessions.
The global pandemic COVID-19 wreaked havoc across the world in 2020. Kerala took extremely effective measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Schools were closed as part of the lockdown. To continue education, Kerala Government announced classes through the television channel Victor. But this required students to have their own television sets at home. This was difficult for children coming from economically backward families. Kerala Samajam was quick to identify a school in Murikkattukudi in Kattapana where the students are predominantly from the tribal families. KSM then procured 6 32″ Philips LED television sets and got them delivered to the school. The entire effort was co-ordinated through one of the teachers in the school.
